EYTs work with children aged from birth to five in a range of settings including nurseries, pre-schools and reception classes. The focus is on planning and carrying out activities which meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS).

EYTs provide a safe and secure environment for children to develop their social and communication skills, while recording observations and summarising their achievements. Their aim is to motivate children and use resources imaginatively to promote learning. These professionals should be focused on the development of the child to prepare them for a successful transition to primary school.
